Description
Small Size, Clean Protection for Electrical Risks
Some fire risks sit in places where a full-size extinguisher just isn’t practical: a home office desk, a narrow comms cupboard, behind a shop counter or beside a workshop bench. The 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher Perth is made for exactly those spots. It’s light enough to grab with one hand and compact enough to mount almost anywhere.
Carbon dioxide puts out fire by smothering it, then disperses into the air, leaving no residue. Your laptop, router, TV or tools won’t be coated in powder after use.
Fire Classes Covered
- Class B – flammable liquids such as fuels, solvents, thinners and lubricants
- Class E – live electrical equipment, including computers, gaming setups, power boards, routers and small appliances
Not suitable for: Class F cooking oil and fat fires. CO2 is also not recommended as the primary extinguisher for Class A fires (paper, wood, fabric) because smouldering materials can reignite. For mixed risks, pair it with an ABE dry powder extinguisher.
Great For
- Home offices and study rooms
- Small retail shops and service counters
- Comms cupboards, network racks and small server closets
- Hair and beauty salons with electrical styling tools
- Workbenches, hobby rooms and electronics repair areas
- Small clinics, studios and consulting rooms
Choosing the Right CO2 Size
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| 2kg | Home offices, small shops, tight spaces, light electrical risks |
| 3.5kg | Offices, retail, clinics and IT areas needing more capacity |
| 5kg | Larger switchboards, plant rooms and industrial sites |
If you’re unsure which size suits your premises, NeonSafety can recommend the right extinguisher and mounting location.

How to Use It: P.A.S.S.
- Pull the safety pin
- Aim the horn at the base of the fire
- Squeeze the handle
- Sweep across the fire
Safety reminders:
- Hold the horn only by its handle. It becomes very cold during discharge.
- A 2kg unit discharges quickly, so get close enough (safely) before you start.
- CO2 lowers oxygen levels in small rooms. Leave and ventilate after use.
- Call 000 if the fire isn’t completely out.
Inspection and Servicing in Perth
Because CO2 extinguishers don’t have a pressure gauge, they need to be weighed to confirm they’re still full. Under AS 1851, workplace extinguishers should be inspected every six months, and CO2 cylinders require periodic pressure testing. NeonSafety offers fire equipment inspections, refills, servicing and test & tag across Perth to keep your gear ready when it counts.
