Easy-to-Handle CO2 Protection for Everyday Workplaces

Not every workplace needs the largest extinguisher on the wall. In offices, retail stores and small commercial spaces, the best extinguisher is often the one staff can confidently lift, carry and use in seconds. The 3.5kg CO2 fire extinguisher Perth strikes that balance, giving solid protection for electrical and flammable liquid risks in a more manageable size.

Like all carbon dioxide extinguishers, it puts out fire by smothering it with CO2 gas, then disperses completely. No powder clean-up, no damaged keyboards, no contaminated stock.

What Fires Does It Cover?

  • Class B – flammable liquids such as fuels, solvents, oils and paints
  • Class E – energised electrical equipment, including computers, printers, switchboards and appliances

Not suitable for: Class F cooking oil and fat fires, and not recommended as the main extinguisher for Class A fires (paper, wood, fabric), as smouldering materials can re-ignite. Combine with an ABE powder or water extinguisher for full coverage.

Ideal For

  • Offices, co-working spaces and reception areas
  • Computer rooms, comms cupboards and data racks
  • Retail shops with POS systems and electronics
  • Medical, dental and allied health clinics
  • Schools, classrooms and IT labs
  • Small switchboards and electrical risers

3.5kg or 5kg CO2: Which Is Right for You?

Choose the 3.5kg when ease of handling matters and the electrical risk is moderate, such as offices, shops and clinics. For larger switchboards, plant rooms and industrial sites, our 5kg CO2 Fire Extinguisher offers more agent and a longer discharge. Not sure which you need? NeonSafety can assess your site and recommend the right size and placement.

Using a CO2 Extinguisher: P.A.S.S.

  1. Pull the pin
  2. Aim the horn at the base of the fire
  3. Squeeze the handle
  4. Sweep side to side

Stay safe:

  • Grip only the horn’s handle. The horn gets extremely cold during discharge.
  • CO2 reduces oxygen in the air. In small rooms, step out and ventilate after use.
  • Keep watching for re-ignition, and call 000 if the fire isn’t fully out.

Keep Your CO2 Extinguisher Service-Ready

CO2 extinguishers have no pressure gauge, so the only way to confirm they’re full is by weighing them during inspection. Under AS 1851, workplace extinguishers should be inspected every six months, and CO2 cylinders also need periodic pressure testing. NeonSafety handles inspections, refills, servicing and test & tag across Perth, so you can tick fire safety off your list.
